Pandemonium is an adventure style board game of survival. No zombies; just classic horror. The Kickstarter is going great guns with, at the time of writing, more than $40,000 banked on a campaign goal of $25,000. You can visit the campaign page for more details.

At a glance the art in Pandemonium looks fantastic. There’s more featured below in this write-up. At a listen Pandemonium sounds a little cheesy at times but they do openly admit to drawing on Dario Agento as an influence so that feels about right.
Dario, more than the other horror authors and directors mentioned, is best known for Giallo style horrors; a mix of slasher and eroticism. You’ll see that in the art too. There are villains here you may or may not want a hug from.
The core game unlocks at $50. This excludes you from the Kickstarter exclusive stretch goals. As the early bird bids have sold out, if you want to step up to the full game with all the stretch goals then that’ll take 50% more cash and bring you up to $75. After that the supporting levels jump to buying more than one copy or the luxury or helping design cards for the game.
It’s worth watching shipping too. This can get expensive with board games but the team here are trying; 10 to 15$ is predicted for the US, 15 to 20$ for Canada, 10 to 30$ for EU, 30 to 40$ for Australia with the rest of the world rising to as much as 60$. Hey; it’s better to know in advance.
The game suits anyone 14 years or older, takes about 90 minutes and copes with 1 to 5 players. Let’s call that a European 14 based on the art and themes. There are 10 characters, 5 creatures, 10 scenarios and a load of dice, items and tokens in the box.
The game’s semi-cooperative and elimination game modes are there to let a player be Evil. I’ve found that to be a good trick to get extra life out of a board game.
