The Wildsea is a magical forest that overran an entire planet within a day, filling it with exotic monsters and danger. Characters are wild sailors, those who travel on chainsaw powered ships in the canopy above, to trade for food.
You can download the latest playtest rules for free from The Wild Sea site (PDF link).
There’s also an official Discord to ask questions and chat.
The digital edition of the game and book upgrade stretch goals is yours for $25, although a hardship tier is available at $12.
The print edition is available at $49 while the (currently more popular) Collector’s Edition is $69 (or about £53). Higher tiers are available for retailers or GMs who like to equip all their players. Telling, some of the highest levels have sold out.
The Wildsea is going to smash through its stretch goals so let’s take a look at what to expect. New Origins (for character creation), a soundtrack and full colour have already been unlocked.
Next up, a professional layout artist will come on board along with virtual tabletop surfaces, then there’s more art, and if the campaign hits $32k, the company will release an SRD.
The stretch goals go all the way up to $50k which, after several book upgrades, finally unlocks a The Wildsea actual play stream or podcast.
We already have a bit of an actual play taster with The Ratlling Roar.
