Modiphius has announced a new expansion for their skirmish game Fallout: Wasteland Warfare.
The new addition to the game is designed for solo/co-op players who want to become Wasteland Wanderers and explore the deadly terrain.
James Sheahan (designer of Fallout: Wasteland Warfare and the Fallout: Wasteland Warfare RPG expansion) says;
This experience is quite different to other scenarios where an opponent (whether another player or the AI) directly wants to prevent your activities because the Wasteland is alive and in constant flux – creatures hunt each other, settlers protect their land, Super Mutants pass through, and much more.
Rather than pre-positioning other pieces on the table for the AI to control, the new system gives AI-controlled Wastelanders tasks to complete. Those tasks might be something as simple as travelling from A to B, or gathering what they need, but they might also be defending an area or hunting for tasty adventurer flesh.
The Wastelands Scenario section in the new expansion contains the rules on how to generate and populate these areas and AI-controlled characters. Of course, by “AI” Geek Native and Modiphius mean rule-based non-playing characters in the game.
Into the Wasteland is due out for Friday the 13th, how about that.
