That Time I Got Reincarnated as a Slime is an anime about an office worker in our world who gets stabbed while protecting colleagues and reincarnates as a slime in a fantasy world.
Slimes are usually on the bottom of the monster food chain, low level encounters for low-level adventurers to level up with. However, this Slime reincarnates in a protected cave with lots of magical resources to consume and can master anything that it eats.
The result? By the time it leaves the cave; it’s a hugely powerful critter! It’s a slime that can transform into an androgynous humanoid form too.
Season 2 will air in Japan come January 12th, taking a break half-way through and then restarting in Summer. In the gap, there will be a spin-off series called The Slime Diaries.
Crunchyroll will stream the second season, as it did the first, as it runs in Japan.
The list of voice actors joining the show for season two is impressive and includes Manami Numakura who voiced Kohaku in Dr. STONE, Chiaki Kobayashi the vocal talent behind Makoto “Edamame” Edamura in The Great Pretender, Hiyori Kono aka Phil in The Promised Neverland and Ai Kakuma who voiced Makomo in Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba.
