The reveal came weeks ago, but Nightfall Games have finally shared a press release about their new The Terminator RPG, and it notes the license includes the movie and Dark Horse comic books.
In other words, events that happened in The Terminator graphic novels are canon in the RPG universe as well.
However, the other Terminator movie sequels are out of scope as is the likeness of Arnold Schwarzenegger. We’re not going to see Arnie as a classic T100 Terminator in this RPG, it seems.
The RPG will add new add though, using talents such as Dave Allsop, Alyssa Menold, Mirco Paganessi, Aaron J Reilly, Matteo Spirito and others.
Meanwhile, Andrew Gaska (Alien Role Playing Game) will lead the main rulebook project while Richard August (Steamforged Games) works on the Quick Start. The game is confirmed as being S5S, created by Chris “Shep” Shepperson (Devil’s Run), who is also involved, and which will premiere with Nightfall Games’ SLA Industries 2e. Marc Langworthy (Hellboy, Kings of War) is running the vehicle rules.
Mark Rapson, Director of Nightfall Games, told press;
We are looking forward to bringing the world of The Terminator to the tabletop roleplay scene. We are working hard to to getting a free quickstart version out for everyone to try it out before we crowdfund the game.”
The previously mentioned quick start is likely to be published next month, with a Kickstarter in early 2021 and the final book in shops before the end of that year.
