In September, DriveThruRPG told publishers it would enable them to sell Astral Tabletop content.
Astral Tabletop is DTRPG’s virtual tabletop partner, a site where gamers can go to see maps, roll dice and manage character sheets and encounters together for online play.
Released yesterday, Daggers of Spiragos might be the first example.
The Scarred Lands adventure from Onyx Path Publishing is not a PDF. It has an “Astral Module” label beside the $9.99 price tag.
You can buy a PDF separately, though.
Instead, after buying Daggers of Spiragos = Astral VTT on DriveThruRPG you received an email confirmation which contains a link that unlocks the module on Astral.
The linking of the large DriveThruRPG marketplace and Astral is an important step for both companies and comes the same week in which D&D’s most recent official book was made available for digital download only at D&D Beyond and virtual tabletop sites like Roll20 and Fantasy Grounds.
What is Dagger of Spiragos?
Daggers of Spiragos is a 5e Scarred Lands adventure and sequel to the free to download Gauntlet of Spirago. Gauntlet was a special adventure for GenCon 2014.
Scarred Lands is a post-godwar fantasy setting, originally created by Sword & Sorcery Studios, a White Wolf imprint, which is now managed by Onyx Path.
Onyx Path have included this YouTube introduction to the setting in their product description for Dagger of Spiragos. Trigger warning; the Titan v God war includes a mention of sexual violence.
