Have you ever wondered how the long out of print Marvel Heroic RPG would play as a Cortex Prime game?
Well, there’s no official help. However, Kamala Kara A’s setting called Giant Corporate Owned Comics Heroic Roleplaying (GCOCHR) might be of interest.
CCOCHR uses Cortex Prime’s Doom Pool mod and Stress and Trauma, with Physical, Mental and Social as the categories.
Kamala’s 12-page document goes on to detail character generation, and a host of useful Cortexy insights and suggestions that may well help you bring your favourite Giant Corporate Owned Comics superheroes back to the tabletop game.
A nice aspect of the game is growth and experience. Kamala notes;
Superheroes growth horizontally, not vertically. Superheroes reset to their base stats at the end of an Adventure. They may keep some specialities, powers, power sets, and distinctions by swapping them for traits of equal size.
As a result, XP can be spent to do things like switch Affiliation traits, add a new d6 power trait to a Power Set, replace an existing Power Set with a new one or add a new Master Speciality.
