Enter the realm of the god-kings and jinn with Kobold Press’ D&D 5e-powered Southlands setting.
Kobold’s distinctly non-Western fantasy setting has now attracted over 1,000 backers and smashed through the $100,000 mark (of a $50,000 goal) and is speeding its way to success. You can join in the pledges or find out a bit more at the pitch page.
As the campaign has exceeded $100,000 it means the following will get produced;
- Southlands Worldbook
- City of Cats
- Southlands Player’s Guide
- Tales Beneath the Sands
Those four books will get produced in numerous different formats, including a hand-tooled and rich leather edition of the Worldbook. There will also be Roll20 versions if digital is more convenient for you.
Tales Beneath the Sands will be available in print but only to Kickstarter backers. It’s exclusive.
The Southlands Worldbook is the setting, everything you need to run D&D-powered adventures there. City of Cats and Tales Beneath the Sands are both adventure books so you can run adventures without first needing to write them and the Player’s Guide adds in heroic options, subclasses and races.
A pledge of $10 gets you a PDF copy of the Player’s Guide, handy if you DM is going to be running the game. At $19, plus shipping (certain countries) you get that and the softcover version.
The digital edition of the Southlands Wordbook costs $25 and like the digital Player’s Guide is expected out in August 2021.
The Southlands hardcover, complete with PDF and bonus adventures also ships only to certain countries and requires a $50 pledge.
At the time of writing, a far more popular option for $50 is to get the Worldbook, Player’s Guide and City of Cats in PDF.
The Roll20 alternatives cost $60 and Fantasy Grounds $65.
If you wanted that limited edition Southlands book, then you need to step up to $85.
