RPG Research is a 501(c)3 non-profit research charitable organisation that does good through roleplaying games.
With roots reaching back to 1977, RPG Research runs training programs, wheelchair accessible RPG bus tours, games analysis, ASL study groups, public advocacy awareness and many streamed events to name just a few initiatives.
2020 has been a busy year for them and donations are up over 600%. In 2018 RPG research had 10 regular volunteers. In 2020 they are nearly 150.
All good? Well, demand has risen by much more – by over 1,000%.
In a blog post the charity says that staff, donations and warehouse facilities are urgently needed.
We urgently need administrative and other staff, donations, and space to keep up with this amazing demand, and to store our equipment, move our broadcast studio to a location with a higher ceiling and decent bandwidth, space for our RPG Museum, and much more.
The list of volunteer positions on the jobs page fills most screens. The good news ist hat some positions are safely international. For example, the role of social media manager (or director) is safely 100% remote working and very flexible. It is, of course, unpaid.
Warehouse space, on the other hand, is a problem where location really matters.
Also need 2,000 to 4,000 square foot warehouse with 12′ bay door, for the wheelchair RPG Bus, RPG Trailers, RPG Museum, office space, and program space, in the greater Spokane Washington or Post Falls Idaho region. Rent for such a facility ranges between $2,000 to $3,000 per month (unless we can find someone generous enough to donate space for free or at a greatly reduced rate). We urgently need this space. We raised $6,000 of this last week, but we still need an additional $24,000 for 1 year’s rent before we can make the move (or else someone donates space at a free or lower rate).
There are a number of ways to donate to RPG Research. They are on Amazon Smile so can benefit from your RPG purchases and they have a content producing Patreon.
