Record of Ragnarok is a manga series in which gods from many mythoi gather to decide humanity’s fate.
The story is written by Shinya Umemura and Takumi Fukui, and illustrated by Ajchika.
Warner Bros Japan has announced the story will get the anime treatment and be released next year. There’s an English subbed trailer available.
This meeting of the gods isn’t a one-off and is known as “Conference of Mankind Survival” and happens every million years. It’s the seventh.
In this Conference, the gods decide that humanity is rubbish and should go, but the eldest Valkyrie, Brunhild, makes an objection. As a result of her intervention, mortal champions from throughout history are made to fight the gods.
The odds seem stacked against the Valkyrie’s champions and, worse, it’s the first to 7 victories in 13 rounds.
