Soukou Musume Senki, aka The War Record of Armored Girls, aka LBX Girls has been picked up by Funimation.
Why all the names? The original Japanese, the translation and then the name the powers-that-be decided the show will use for the West. LBX isn’t spun out of nothing, the anime is a spin-off of Level 5’s “Little Battlers Experience” computer RPG, and I imagine LBX is a contraction of that.

The two-minute preview gives you a good idea of the anime and the 3D-style CG battle scenes with mecha-girls in armour and short skirts taking on aliens.
LBX Girls will follow Riko, a young woman who starts the day by going out on a field trip and finishes it is transported to an alternative reality in which Japan is being attacked by the metal-based Mimesis.
Riko isn’t the only girl thrown into this reality, and together the new team have the planet’s very survival on their armour-enhanced shoulders.
