Adam Vaas’s tabletop RPG of lost kids and critters lost in an endless wood on Halloween is in Kickstarter to fund a second edition. It’s going well.
The Powered by the Apocalypse game suits 2 to 5 players with a GM and includes rules for solo play. The campaign asks for $8,000 and has made $3,000 in minutes. You can see the current total and pledge on the project page.
Babes in the Wood copes with both one-shot games and short campaigns. The style feels kid-friendly but might get a little surreal and perhaps even spooky when viewed again as an adult. Examples of this might include the Wizard of Oz, Adventure Time or Over the Garden Wall.
The original RPG was written in 2017 and was Vaas’ first production. Adam says he’s learned a lot since then and that you don’t need to have any familiarity with the first edition to enjoy the second.
A pledge of $12 will get you the PDF (and rich text copy), and that’s expected in May 2021.
The hardback is due out at the same time. Babes in the Wood 2e will be in full colour and cost $26.
For backers in the United States of America, there’s a limited Special Edition that’ll set you back $76 and come wrapped in cloth and with exclusive dice, masks, stickers and other goodies.
