Wizards of the Coast have hired Makenzie De Armas as an associate game designer. De Armas has written for MCDM and The Islands of Sina Una a Philippine mythology-inspired 5e campaign setting.
Jeremy Crawford the Principal rules designer for D&D welcomed Makenzie on board with a reply tweet, saying;
I was thrilled when you accepted the offer to join the D&D RPG team last year. And I’m even more thrilled that your start day is here at last!
De Armas is a fresh talent in the industry. On her site, she says her first D&D campaign was in 2018, and that encounter would ultimately change her life.
Knarl’s Candy Compendium which Makenzie wrote with Levi Phipps is a DMs Guild electrum bestseller and was a Judges’ Spotlight winner in the 2020 ENnies.
Makenzie De Armas’ appointed follows another D&D design team hire when, last month, Amanda Hamon left Kobold Press to become a senior designer on D&D.
