If you’re a busy Game Master and quickly need a tavern then Here Be Taverns is absolutely worth looking at.
Created by Sword & Source the tavern generator lets you also roll up characters, items, plot hooks and landmarks.
Hitting the “Roll Tavern” produces a map of a tavern, a menu and characters. You can change the location of the tavern to make sure it is appropriate for the setting.
The site even produces little bios for staff and other patrons that the characters might meet there.
The maps are powered by Watabou, a great online cartographer responsible for this hugely popular city generator. That endears me to Here Be Taverns even more as I can be consistent with my handouts styles.
Equally, bonuses such a plot hooks come from LoreCraft’s Ceaseless Realms.
Last year, this blogger had a go at writing a random fantasy tavern generator and, well, it’s not one-tenth as impressive as Here Be Taverns. Welcome to 2021, a time when the internet is being populated by fictional digital watering holes.
