Hunters Entertainment have a smash hit on their hands. The Kickstarter campaign for Gods of Metal: Ragnarock asked for $20,000, and with nearly three weeks still on the clock the campaign has taken in more than $60,000.
The RPG is your chance to become an avatar of metal, a demi-god that must battle beasts, monsters and total poseurs. You can sign up at the pitch page.
Gods of Metal: Ragnarock asks whether you’ll pledge to the Patron Metal God, form a band with Brutalizers, Blüdgaards, Howlers, Shredders, Chordmasters, and Amplords and fight the enemies like Pit Demons of Borgourl.
The RPG is set in two worlds; Mundania and the Umbilical Descent. Characters are “rescued” from Mundania by the Rognuskull (metal angels) who, now transported to a new world and turned into an Avatar, must now battle The Silence.
The standalone game comes with a host of accessories, including a GM screen, which happens to be an album, shot glasses and picks.
A pledge of $20 will get you the PDF. Make that $50, and the standard edition of the book gets added to your loot.
The deluxe edition first appears in the $150 pledge tier, along with the limited-run vinyl but Gods of Metal: Ragnarock is using Kickstarter’s new add-on system so you can pick and choose, to a degree, before pledging that much.
The estimated delivery date is October of this year.
