Mongoose Publishing has gone to Kickstarter to help fund the three-book Traveller: Mercenary Campaigns expansion.
The project has more than three weeks on the clock and is already a success. The Swindon-based studio asked for £25,000 to fund the set, and nearly 700 backers have helped to raise more than £60,000 in pledges. You can see the latest total and join the campaign on the project page.
The Mercenary box set will employer Traveller groups to play games in which characters forge their own mercenary unit. These groups could be small squads or entire battalions able to take up the most demanding but also lucrative projects.
The box, which will also have a digital version, initially comes with the Mercenaries in the Far Future book, the Running a Mercenary Force book, the In the Field book and a wipeable Unit Roster card.
Stretch goals may expand the content, though.

A pledge of £45 will get you the PDF edition of the whole set. The physical box requires a pledge of £75.
The digital tier fulfils earlier and is expected to arrive in July, whereas the box set actual has an estimated delivery of November.
