There are two versions of Fantasy Grounds. There’s the classic virtual tabletop software and then the next generation, which no one is forced to use, built on Unity after a successful Kickstarter to fund the project.
So, wisely, Fantasy Grounds merged the gameplay data from both to show us a game usage report for the last quarter 2020.
Fantasy Grounds reports D&D dominance, even more so than on Roll20. The latter recently reported, 52% of campaigns are D&D 5e as on Fantasy Grounds over 70% of their sessions are D&D 5e.
Here are the top ten RPGs over on Fantasy Grounds;
- D&D 5e
- Pathfinder 1e
- Pathfinder 2e
- Savage Worlds
- Starfinder 1e
- D&D 3.5e
- Call of Cthulhu
- D&D 2e
- MoreCore
- Traveller
However, the last time Geek Native saw Fantasy Grounds data was October 2019 which was Q3 for the year.
D&D 5e had 70% of sessions then. The main difference is Pathfinder 2e, which moves from 7th on the old top 10 to 3rd.
