Award-winning RPG designer Liz Chaipraditkul has joined Magpie Games.
Chaipraditkul win the 2020 Indie Groundbreaker for Afterlife: Wandering Souls and, more recently, took City of Flesh to Kickstarter and Zine Quest 3 in a grimdark femmcore RPG about escaping the rotting womb of a dying colossus.
A blog post from Magpie says that Liz will be taking up many roles with the publisher and this includes being the project manager for the recently announced Avatar and Korra RPG.
Magpie announced the still-untitled game at the start of the month, having secured a multi-year license with ViacomCBS.
In addition to the Powered by the Apocalypse RPG, Magpie has confirmed two other books for the game; Republic City and The Spirit World. The latter is due out in February 2023.
That’s enough to keep most project managers busy for a while. Thankfully, Magpie noted that Liz is up for the task, saying;
She’s a very organized developer and gets as much thrill out of figuring out how to fit everything together into a great book as she does in designing the systems in the first place.
