D&D Beyond is Wizards of the Coast’s official partner for digital copies of rules and supplements. It is, however, also possible to buy official D&D digital products from virtual tabletops like Roll20 and Fantasy Grounds.
While D&D Beyond offers Twitch overlays to help facilitate streaming, recently added a dice roller, has dabbled with a Discord bot, it does not provide a virtual tabletop solution.
The Chrome extension AboveVTT provides a workaround.
Once installed on your browser, the extension uses the DnDBeyond.com site to overlap virtual tabletop facilities.
As with all extensions, you should only install them if you trust the developer (whom you can contact from the extension page). You can speak to the team directly from their Discord.
AboveVTT is in alpha testing, and, at the time of writing, version 0.7 of the extension has been released. We’re not even at a stable version 1.0 yet.
Regular listeners of Geek Native’s highlights how Audio EXP will know that the topic of Fandom’s plans for D&D Beyond and the convergence of virtual tabletops and marketplaces are a frequent topic. AboveVTT shows yet another approach, and not necessarily one D&D Beyond even knew was happening.
