This anime’s full title is “Banished From The Heroes’ Party, I Decided to Live a Quiet Life in the Countryside” because short titles just don’t cut it anymore, apparently.
The trailer makes a good point, even though it’s entirely without subtitles. If you could live a life of pleasant serenity in the countryside, why wouldn’t you?
The scriptwriter from My Next Life as a Villainess: All Routes Lead to Doom!, Megumi Shimizu, is working with director Makoto Hoshino to bring this new project to life. They’d previously worked together on KING’S RAID: Successors of the Will.
Based on Zappon and Yasumo’s light novels, the story follows an ex-adventurer who tries to lead a quiet life.
Yen Press have the license for the English language version of the novels. Here’s how they describe the story;
Red was once a member of the Hero’s party, a powerful group destined to save the world from the evil forces of Taraxon, the Raging Demon Lord. That is, until one of his comrades kicked him out. Hoping to live the easy life on the frontier, Red’s new goal is to open an apothecary. However, keeping the secret of his former life may not be as simple as he thinks. Especially when the beautiful Rit, an adventurer from his past, shows up and asks to move in with him!
The original novels have sold more than 1 million.
