In 2016, Porter Robinson had a viral hit with Shelter. The anime showed a young woman alone in a world she had absolute control over.
Now the American DJ has a new anime music video out. It’s called the Musician, and the video has an elf running from robots.
The Porter Robinson sound is evident across both videos, but the visuals are different. Shelter is a more traditional anime, whereas Musician has a more of an arty vibe.
Musician is a more linear story in contrast, though. Shelter tricks us with memories, but the adventure here is more straightforward, even if it has whimsical elements.
However, both videos are interested in nature and science’s juxtaposition and perhaps both carry a warning.
