The retailer Awesome Dice are on Kickstarter to fund some gorgeous hieroglyphic dice sets.
Furthermore, the campaign has been launched by Brandon, who describes themselves as the “current owner of Awesome Dice”. The last time I talked to the store, it was with Brian, so I infer from the Kickstarter there’s been a management change. The campaign asked for $7,500 and currently is at about $12,000. You can check out the latest totals and pledge at the pitch page.
There are three sets of dice in the campaign, and they’re accompanied by stat sets from Tim de Roos. Bonus content is exclusive to Kickstarter backers.
For over a decade, Awesome Dice has been supporting the tabletop RPG community with dice and accessories. Historically, we’ve operated as a dice retailer. Now, we present you the world’s first line of hieroglyphic, sharp-edge dice.
A single d20 requires a pledge of $15 but gets you into the add-on space and requires shipping.
Alternatively, a complete dice set is yours for $50, and that includes a PDF of all three Egyptian-themed subclasses and a magic item card that matches whichever set of dice you pick.
The sets are Anubis, Scarab and the Eye of Ra.
Higher tiers get you more than one set but, sorry to say, the Early Bird tiers are all gone.
No matter which of the standard sets you go for, the expected delivery is October 2021.
If Kickstarter isn’t your thing, Awesome Dice are also taking pre-orders on a limited set of The Witcher RPG dice.
