Last year was a tricky one for Free RPG Day’s new owners.
The event is supposed to get people into their local gaming stores and interested in a whole new RPG product line to spend their cash on. It’s hard to do that during COVID-19, and the event had to be scheduled.
The Free RPG Day website now lists the new date for 2021.
Free RPG Day 2021 will be held on October 16, 2021.
What happens next? Free RPG Day will announce its 2021 Publishing Partners. These companies contribute free material to the event; the more significant the deal, the more prestigious a mention the company gets.
Local retailers will be sent boxes of the freebies, and it is their composition that the publishing tiers determine.
Three general 2021 sponsors have already been announced, and they are the geeky retailer news site ICv2, the board games site The Dice Tower and content creators Be Bold Games.
