The Guardian called 2020 “the year of the Karen”, recognising the debate around the name, which has become a pejorative.
It’s a fierce debate too. Wikipedia notes the arguments that it may be sexist, misogynistic, or seeking to control female behaviour.
The pejorative origins are sensitive too and may well come from communities on Twitter to describe white women who are keen to use their privilege to get what they want.
So, BigBad Tabletop is being bold with a dangerous marketing move, sticking their brand on the bottom of a Karen meme.
Speak to the manager. That’s right, that’s a Karen attack; all creatures within 30 feet must make a saving throw or take psychic damage.
