Geek Native readers have been robots chased by sharks. That’s to say, last year, this blog gave away a copy of Get Bit! a tabletop game in which your robot has to outswim other robots to get away from a hungry shark.
It was an easy competition to enter as all readers had to say whether they thought we find life more intelligent than dolphins in the unexplored depths of the oceans in a poll.
Here are the results;
Will we find life smarter than dolphins in the unexplored depths of the oceans? | Responses |
---|---|
I think we’ll find life more intelligent than dolphins in our oceans. | 42.5% |
I do not think we’ll find life more intelligent than dolphins in our oceans. | 57.5% |
There you have it; by a margin of 15%, readers do not think we’ll find anything smarter than dolphins if or when humanity does a better job at exploring the bottom of the ocean.
In the poll, we also asked people whether or not they considered themselves to be geeks. Non-geeks take part in Geek Native competitions frequently as there are prizes to be won.
Geeks are even less likely to believe anything smarter than dolphins can be found in the watery depths of the planet.
