Inkwell Ideas are back on Kickstarter with a solution for GMs when players do something unexpected. Er, so all the time then?
On offer and funded within hours are RPG Sidequest Decks. The decks include monster lairs, small towns and pulp adventures. These cards make suggestions as to how they might make connect. For example, a treasure card might also suggest a monster. The pulp adventures are more Indiana Jones in era and style than high fantasy too. You can see the latest total on the project page.
These cards are system agnostic, and Inkwell says they have a map on one side and a min-adventure with suitable attention to hook ideas on the other. You can see some examples before.
Inkwell Ideas have done this before and have made 11 decks already; this campaign will add four more. Those four are;
- Sidequest Decks: Monster Hunts
- Sidequest Decks: Coastal Town
- Sidequest Decks: Frontier Town
- Sidequest Decks: Pulp Adventures
Sidequest Decks are system agnostic tabletop RPG plot outlines & maps. They are perfect to pull out when your players unexpectedly take a casual comment for a story hook and you need an adventure idea, or for planning what dangers lurk in your kingdom. You may even chain several together for an entire campaign!
PDF versions of any one of these decks unlock with a pledge of $5. The PDF complete with one printed deck requires a commitment of $12.
There are no digital economies of scale, with 4 PDFs costing $20, but there are printed ones as 4 printed decks, with their accompanying PDFs, are unlocked with a pledge of just $42.
The pledge tiers go higher if you want to buy other Inkwell Ideas decks. You can go all the way up to $140 to get all 15 printed decks.
Whether you’re backing at $5 or $140, the expected fulfilment date is July 2021.
