Audemars Piguet, a Swiss luxury watch brand, have released Royal Oak “Black Panther” Flying Tourbillon, and it looks incredible.
A tourbillion is a rotating frame on a watch that attempts to compensate for the effects of gravity on the watch. Yeah, that sounds like something Shuri would have mastered at the age of three.
Let’s get to the cost. Each of the 250 watches will set you back $162,000. These watches are for royalty or those with matching bank accounts.
Audemars Piguet worked with Marvel on the design, which features a 42mm body made from sandblasted titanium. There’s a black ceramic bezel, and T’Challa is ready to pounce from the centre face.
How does Black Panther look that detailed? The watchmakers have added a laser-engraved microtexture.
The watch itself is a 3Hz hand-would calibre 2965 movement, with 72 hours of reserve power. There are glare proof sapphire crystal panels on both sides, and the watch is resistant to water down to 50m.
