Ghostfire Gaming has always done well with their Grim Hollow Kickstarter campaign targets. I’ve not backed, but people keep coming back, and that’s a great sign.
With Grim Hollow: The Monster Grimoire, the Australian publishers are leaning into their strengths and focusing on grimdark monsters and art. They’ve already scooped a “Project We Love” label and smashed their US$20,000 goal with US$130,000 pledged in hours. You can watch the numbers go up, or pledge at the project page.
This bestiary will bring more than 400 new monsters into the 5e system, and Ghostfire has designed them to suit the dark fantasy of Grim Hollow.
The horrors come with their own stats but also treasures. In keeping with the darkness of the setting, you might have to harvest parts of these beasts to get to these treasures.
Mini users will be pleased as the campaign comes with models for battle maps, and some of them look terrifying.
Nicely, if you’ve missed out on Ghostfire Gaming’s Grim Hollow Kickstaters before, you can use the add-on system to buy into The Player’s and Campaign Guides.
A pledge of US$25 will get you the digital copy of the Monster Grimoire, which’s about £19.
At $55, you get the hardcover and the PDF, plus a map pack of 10 maps.
Stepping up to $110 adds 1 box of regular miniatures and one of the monster cards.
The pledges increase in size, adding more minis, and top out at $480, which gets you all the books, all the regular, large and gigantic miniature box sets, all the cards, a card binder to keep them in, the special edition of the book and a trinket collection.
It’s only Monday, and for this week’s RPG news cycle, there’s 27 Kickstarter heat, of which this project contributes 13.
