Mythical Spirit Chronicles began on the user-generated story site Shousetsuka ni Narou in 2014. Now the isekai story is getting an anime that is due out in July.
J-Novel Club has the license to the English version of the books and they’re available on comiXology. They describe the series;
Meet Rio: a callous orphaned boy living in the slums. At only 7-years-old, he realizes he’s actually the reincarnation of Haruto Amakawa, a Japanese university student with a tragic past. While still reeling from this shocking epiphany, Rio also comes to learn that he possesses extremely potent magical abilities and uses his new powers to solve the kidnapping case of a little girl. His good deed is acknowledged, and he’s rewarded by being enrolled into… a prestigious academy for noble children…
Indeed, that’s what we might infer from the unsubtitled trailer, given the dramatic train crash and then all the flickering blue energy.
A new poster for the series has been released.
Osamu Yamasaki is directing the series for TMS Entertainment and we’ve not yet heard whether any Western streaming platforms might pick it up.
