In an interview with Wargamer, Chris Birch, Modiphius’ founder, has revealed a new RPG called Against the Gods Themselves is on the way.
Against the Gods Themselves will take place in the same setting as Achtung! Cthulhu and will not only be an RPG but a transmedia project with other tabletop games planned.
Birch told Wargamer;
It’s gonna be a big miniatures range, it’s gonna be an RPG, it’s gonna be novels. It’s got an amazing line-up of people; some really big names from all across the industry are working on it, some really fantastic writers.”
Achtung! Cthulhu, the game of Nazis and occult fringe science, only just got a revamp and a 2d20 edition itself. So, how does the new RPG differ from Achtung! Cthulhu itself?
Chris explains the difference. There’s less focus on human evil there.
… it’s a vengeance story against the Old Gods, and it’s going to be all the way through time.”
It’s quite a big, epic universe of characters, ancient gods, and creatures,
In the Wargamer interview we learn that streamlined rules are being considered, but not if the 2d20 system will be used for the RPG or whether any of the other tabletop games will be from Modphius’ growing solo adventure series “Adventure Wargaming”.
