Pacesetting Games & Simulations are back on Kickstarter with a standard and collectors edition of Endless Encounters: Dungeons for D&D 5e and B/X.
On offer, and now fully funded, is a collection of tables so that any overly busy GM can roll up as many random dungeons as they need. The content is suitable for adventurers through level 1 to 8. You can see the current pledge tally or join in from the project page.
Pacesetter has done 5e & B/X combos before with projects like Path of the Vanished, Into the Unknown and The Lost Tryptych. This is their first generator and, hopefully, it isn’t killing the golden goose of Kickstarting adventures for the rulesets.
The phrase “Monster Hotel” applies to locations in which monsters just seem to be hanging around, waiting in rooms, and it’s one Pacesetter embrace here.
In its simplest form, this book acts as a dungeon generator. There are countless tables included to be used to generate a fully stocked dungeon in just minutes. Aside from the tables, we also include a complete sample dungeon with a corresponding map for your convenience. This is included in the instance where you would rather not randomize the dungeon, or you’re simply running late for game night!
There’s more than just tables, though. There are 200 pages of adventure, full-colour maps and art, new magic items, and new monsters in the book.
Stretch goals are pushing these extras even further, and Endless Encounters: Dungeons is getting fatter.
A pledge of $25 will unlock a PDF copy of either the 5e or B/X edition. You don’t get both in the same download. There are some economies of scale if you want both, and you can get them together for $45.
A hardcover copy of any one version of the book costs $50, and that collector’s edition requires a pledge of $110. The collector’s edition will have both systems and an alternative cover by Dmitry Yakhovsky.
Higher and retail pledges exist, but the delivery is always for this October.
