It’s Earth Day and The Op, makers of so many branded Monopoly games, the occasional branded Munchkin game, Telestrations and Blank Slate will now plant a tree for every board game sold from their site.
The program is part of “The Op GiveBack Program” and has an appropriate Earth Day focus on Environmental and COmmunity improvements. They have partnered with the non-profit charity One Tree Planted to make it happen.
The Op is based in southern California, and that is where the trees will be planted.
Matt Hill, Chief Environmental Evangelist at One Tree Planted, said in a statement;
Restoring California’s landscapes for cleaner air, water, and biodiversity has been one of our key focus areas in the US for several years now. We’re happy to have the support of The Op in creating a healthy environment close to home.”
Meanwhile, John M. Davis, President and CEO of The Op, said;
To acknowledge the use of trees in the production of our products, we wanted to take action that would lend to the restoration of expended or destroyed resources, which aligns with One Tree Planted’s commitment to global reforestation, and also contributes to the beautification of our home. We will be planting a tree for every order placed on our website to ensure that the sustainability of our games reflects the long-lasting memories made by the families that enjoy them”
