Grady Hendrix’s The Final Girl Support Group is getting a TV series.
There are no timelines on that production yet, but this summer, geeky British retailer Forbidden Planet has an exclusive signed bookplate edition of the hardcover.
With its famous London megastore, the shop is owned by Titan, and Titan publishes The Final Girl Support Group in the UK, which probably helps!
The signed hardbacks available at Forbidden Planet come with black sprayed edges.
The horror follows a group of “final girls”. It’s a name given to the pretty girl who survives a horror movie scenario. They’re the ones who get away.
Do you ever wonder what happens to them afterward? Once the police have decided they’re not the mastermind behind whole the whole drama? After all the publicity that follows?
Counseling. Lots of counseling. For Lynette Tarkington, it’s been the support group, other final girls, who have been her rock.
But that group will come to an end too; it’s just that Lynette doesn’t know it yet…
The TV series is being made by Annapurna and by the co-creators of The Fix. Elizabeth Craft and Sarah Fain will adapt the book, recognizing that it’s both a homage and a poke at the iconic slasher films it takes its name from.
Craft and Fain have written for Angel, The Shield, and The Vampire Diaries before.
