You’ve been able to buy Oumcraft’s dice eyeballs for a little while, but as all good ideas from indie crafters should do, they’re now heading to Kickstarter for an expansion.
The goal was to get CA$620 in funds for the project, and the dice have done well. It’s a short Kickstarter, with only 10 days left on the two-week run, but there’s more than CA$3,500 in pledges. You can see more and join in from the project page.
The Kickstarter dice will be available in 10 different jewel tones, so a bit more than the previous standard, and you can see them on the pitch page.
The eyeball suspended in the dice will always float around to look straight out. It’s a freaky touch that feels appropriate to many RPGs!
I wanted to create an added sense of tension at the table with these dice, and the innovative liquid core technology the designer came up with is the perfect blend of style and function. No matter how you roll, the eye will always face up; and every edge is carefully polished, to give the dice fair and balanced chances to hit every number. Be the envy at your table with these one of a kind dice that seem to have a mind of their own, or the sinister DM who seemed to pluck these simulacra of frozen souls right from the pages of your RPG, and watch your players look on in anticipation to see if luck truly is in the eye of the beholder.
These dice will ship from Thailand as that’s where they’re being handmade, so let’s look at the cost of pledges.
It’s CA$34 (about £21) for a d6 and CA$37 for a d20. Well, I guess we shouldn’t be surprised.
The rest of the campaign is limited in number and divided into two delivery schedules.
Wave 1 will ship before Halloween and costs CA$110. You can have one set of 7 dice, all the same colour, in that wave.
Wave 2 ships in October; it’s the same deal. All pledges have add-ons that let you add more dice to your gruesome horde/hoard.
