Do you think that you could outsmart the police?
It’s an odd question to ask but in December had a copy of Modiphius’ Death on the Cards card game to giveaway.
Death on the Cards isn’t just an Agatha Christie inspired mystery; it’s a game created in partnership with the Agatha Christie estate.
To enter the competition, readers had to say whether they could outsmart the police or not. How would you have voted?
Most readers conceded that they could not outsmart the police; only 47% of responses thought they could.

I also asked people taking part in the competition whether they considered themselves to be geeks or not. Competitions, even for card games, attract all sorts of readers.
As a result, I can report that people who consider themselves a geek are also more likely to consider themselves more intelligent than the police.

On average, 53% of people acknowledged that they could not out-think the police. That figure was only 52% for geeks (we had more geek responders) than 56% for non-geeks.

Should we surprised that geeks are more confident that they’re more intelligent than the police?
