This week the Game Manufacturers Association launched the Tabletop Game Industry Catalog.
In effect, the site is a search engine of over 100,000 categorised titles. The database makes public the name of games, the publisher, MSRP (in Dollars), SKU, UPC, whether the game is available or not, weight and distributor details if they are GAMA members.
The tabletop game search engine is not intended for members of the public to use or research game but as an information hub for retailers, publishers, and distributors. The goal? To sell more games.
GAMA said;
Retailers can use the catalog to find products to stock in their store and access important game information such as weight, dimensions, stock images, sell sheets, demo videos, organized play information, etc. In addition, there are purchase links to the distributors that stock the game and to the publisher’s website if they sell direct to retailers. Retailers can create lists of titles that they want to stock and export that information to a file that can be imported into their Shopify POS, simplifying their operations so that they can focus on selling more games.
GAMA publisher members can verify and edit details at no additional cost.
