The D&D movie has begun filming and will star A-Listers like Chris Pine. We know the talent behind the cameras as well. But what else?
Geek Native had speculated on whether Vecna, the lich-god would be a Thanos like arc-villain. There were also rumours of the dragon Palrandusk from the Forgotten Realms.
Update (21 May): The synopsis is now in dispute, with it being described as not accurate after inquiries made by ScreenRant. The original article continues below.
Legal documents spotted by @thepipas0 seem to confirm the Forgotten Realms.
An ex-Harper turned thief escapes from prison with his partner, a female barbarian, and reunites with a no-talent wizard and a druid new to their team in an effort to rob the cheating conman who stole all their loot from the heist that landed them behind bars, and used it to install himself as the Lord of Neverwinter. Only the traitor is allied with a powerful Red Wizard who has something far more sinister in store.
Hugh Grant is involved, so it could be either the Lord of Neverwinter or the Red Wizard.
That might mean (as seems likely) Chris Pine is ex-Harper thief, while Michelle Rodriguez is the barbarian the paperwork felt it necessary to assign a gender to.
What about Regé-Jean Page? Wizard or Druid?
