Are you still there?
They may be deadly, but those turrets from Portal had some charisma. As much as I appreciated my encounters with them, they were brief, and I’m undecided but what my gaming life would be like with one watching me.
While I’m sure it’s all the latest tech, when news of Trust’s new Fyru 258W PS5 edition 4-in-1 USB microphone hit my desk, I thought, “Portal turret”.
It’s a multifunctional microphone; actually, three microphones, with different recording models, pop filters and as it’s to fit in with your gaming decor, it has adjustable LED lighting.
Those four modes are cardioid, which points straight at you for recording clear voice-overs, and head on streaming, bidirectional for face-to-face interviews, stereo for recording vocals and instruments in a room and finally, an omnidirectional mode when you just want to soak up everything.
To ensure the best possible recordings, the Fyru features a zero-latency headphone monitoring port. The easily accessible port allows users to listen to any recordings on headphones, with the focus being on the sound on the targeted recording. Settings can be changed using the microphone gain, mute and headphone volume knobs on the front of the microphone.
The Fyru 258W PS5 edition is out now and reviewing well on Amazon.
