Junji Ito is a horror manga creator of international acclaim. Stranger things have happened, especially in Ito’s own stories, but I was not expecting Loot Crate to launch a special four-part series.
What do we get? Well, for $30 and shipping, there are 4 to 6 exclusive items inspired by Juni Ito in the post. That’ll include some officially licensed collectables, also apparel and, well, “more!” says Loot Crate.
It’s always the gamble here, isn’t it?
The first crate, which is limited in number, has gear and apparel from Tomie, Souichi, and Yon & Mu! It’s a one-time-only deal, which means you pay for each crate and are automatically subscribed to the next until the series is complete, but you can cancel.
The costs are in American money, but shipping reaches Australia, Canada, the United Kingdom, France, Germany, and other countries.
Adult Swim is working on a Junji Ito anime series, but the timing does not overlap, as that has been delayed until at least next winter.
There have been Ito anime before, of course, but never quite manage to appease the fans. It’s almost as if you’re not a true fan unless you’ve read the book. Well, we’ve had this battle before.
