It’s now beginning to feel like a parody. After having spent two weeks trying to position itself as the original TSR Games relaunched, including a LinkedIn founded in 1973 claim and an erroneous one saying they started Gen Con, TSR Games (3) insist they are not TSR Games (1).
What might have happened? To try and change the subject from their exclusionary and political launch, followed by aggressive social media, the company who bought the rights to the TSR trademark have been talking about Dave Arneson and Blackmoor.
Dave Arneson is the co-creator of D&D, and many would argue the lead writer on the original D&D.
The catch? As Call of Cthulhu scribe and Petersen Games mastermind, Sandy Petersen points out, Arneson believes he was not treated well by TSR Games.
At this point, TSR Games (3) was quick to say that they are not, in any way, the old TSR and are entirely new.
According to TSR Games (3), there’s a brand new person at the loudspeaker of their social media. The company has announced that whoever was at the helm while TSR Games was particularly aggressive has left the business and replaced by Michael.
However, there is some speculation that there is no Michael, and this claim is a lie. As a result, the parody account @TSRMichael exists and has been making barbed jokes
