Based on Hiroshi Takashige and Ryōji Minagawa’s Spriggan, Netflix’s anime looks great. Hiroshi Seko of Attack on Titan, Mob Psycho 100 and Jujutsu Kaisen (and talk about an excellent track record!) is supervising and writing the script.
But, it’s delayed from this year and will now launch next.
In the original manga, we follow Yū Ominae, who is no mere student; he’s an agent of the ARCAM Corporation and asked from stopping anyone else from getting hold of dangerous technology left behind by an ancient civilisation.
Who might want this forgotten power? Rival states, private organisations and all sorts of undesirables.
We’ve had a Spriggan anime before, back in 1998, which got an English language release a few years later, but this one is all Netflix’s project.
