This post is happening for a few reasons. I bought a doormat from Truffle Shuffle. As a result, the retail operation is now retargeting me with doormats (I’d suggest putting in an exception for people who made it to the checkout confirmation page, save your Truffle budget). That’s why I saw the company’s new range of Teenage Mutant Ninja doormats.
I’ve never reviewed a doormat before, haven’t actually got mine in place yet (apartment move pending) but I am relieved that it looks and feels like a proper doormat. It’s not a whimsy little marketing stunt. But, I’ll show you my purchase, which wasn’t a TMNT doormat, after sharing the new collection.
The Shredder doormat
I can easily tell you why I like it. The traditional welcome mat is being subverted by a mean ol’ villain who’s warning you off. It’s bold, it’s brave and different. Despite the message. This doormat will make you friends.
Cowbunga! doormat
A more traditional welcome, with an actual welcome message and a row of smiling faces. This design is equally exclusive to Truffle Shuffle. It’ll be as rare as The Shredder but may set a more positive vibe.
Home Is Where the Pizza Is doormat
[This one]
I’d put this design, the last of the TMNT doormats I have to show, in the middle. It takes a common saying and Turtle-ifies it, but not with the cheekiness of The Shredder, while not being as unchallengingly wholesome as Cowbunga! Imagine what the pizza delivery person will think.
Pusheen
I didn’t get a Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtle doormat to welcome fellow geeks. I got Pusheen! Mainly because it says; Hi!
I notice it’s sold out. In a way, I’m pleased because it validates my choice, but in a hipster way, I wanted to be super unusual.
