Ex Libris Mork Borg exists already. It’s a website that you can list your Mork Borg content and help other people find it. Or, it’s a website to find Mork Borg as it’s enabled other people to share it.
The Kickstarter is to fund the maintenance of Ex Libris, extend it to other open license supporting RPG systems, and open-source it.
The campaign has been funded and did so quickly. That suggests a loyal core who find Ex Libris useful, and just being on Kickstarter will help more people find the site. Hopefully, it’s a win-win.
Besides Mörk Borg, Ex Libris can organize and showcase content for any game issuing an open license for third-party creators. Examples include Troika!, Mausritter, Wanderhome, and many others.
If we reach our ultimate funding goal, Ex Libris will be able to expand to accommodate content from these and other titles, each in their own individual directories. We won’t be maintaining these directories, but we will provide the tools and support for enthusiastic fans to build and maintain their own—free of charge.
Funds raised will be spent re-writing old entries, better tagging and adding links to other distribution platforms like Itch.io and DriveThruRPG.
Nicely, funds will also be spent to enable brave souls to reach out to people who have created and released unlicensed Mork Borg content to help them get licensed. I say “Nicely” because I want to support the positive community content aspect here. Another spin could be; the Mork Borg police.
You can support the project for any amount, but at $10, you get your name listed as a supporter.
At $25, you’ll get your name listed, and IF the $6,000 stretch goal is met, you’ll get a PDF copy of that adventure.
There are higher rewards, such as some editorial influence (even on your own title) at $50, a commemorative t-shirt at $100 or a hardback of the site’s source code at $500!
There’s no standard estimated delivery for these cosmopolitan tiers, but it’s worth repeating that the Mork Borg content on Ex Libris is already live.
