Gamers introduced to RPGs by the success of D&D 5e and shows like Critical Role seem to lean more heavily towards pre-written adventures than previous generations.
It feels like this shift in the market is a change that Cyberpunk publisher R. Talsorian Games is feeling. They say;
We know you want more missions to run in Cyberpunk RED and we’re working on it!
The publisher as a solution, of sorts, to though Cyberpunk Red TTRPGs group who are looking to get their hands on pre-written scenarios or missions and don’t have anything handy.
There are several in the Cyberpunk RED Jumpstart Kit and Screamsheets. The Jumpstart costs $10, and it came out in 2019. Cyberpunk RED came out a year later, and there’s more distance between how things work in the Jumpstart and in the core rules than is usually the case.
Some gamers, especially newbies who we should look after and snuggle into the chromed community, might not be comfortable at converting and updating what’s already been released.
The solution? James Hutt has done it for us.
The result is a free to download (PDF Link) 11-page conversion guide.
RTG note;
Only James didn’t just write a conversion guide, choombas! He sat down and worked out statblocks for every named NPC in the Jumpstart Kit’s full mission (The Apartment) and Screamsheets (Precious Cargo, Just Like Real, and Definitely Not Kansas). That’s eleven new NPCs, all with Roles, ready for you to plug into your campaign. You can use them as is, reskin them, or use them as inspiration for your own statblocks!
