I’ve been wondering what to do with a set of mosquitos trapped in amber dice I have. It looks like backing another Kickstarter may be the answer.
Edinburgh-based Sam Zhao and Kakapopo TCG sell dice displays and storage solutions. The Kickstarter turns the concept of “storage” into one of display. Hang it on your wall and be proud, display. You can check out the latest totals or back the project from the pitch page.
This is a Kickstarter campaign in which the add-ons are almost as interesting as the main item. That main item is a set of displays, and we’re reassuringly showed the construction elements of those that turn dice into wall hangings or tabletop pieces.
The add-ons are more traditional storage solutions, and the dice archive has already been unlocked.
Now with jokes aside, since launching the Dice Palace on Kickstarter back in 2019, it became a very popular item with Dice Collectors and Dice Makers that needed something to store and display their every growing dice collection.
There’s a £1 “still thinking” pledge level that gets you add-on access, so if you can’t yet decide, you’ve bought yourself some time.
The square frame is a reward of £10, but shipping needs to be added, and it’ll go only to certain countries.
The slim frame, better suited to more die and a wall, is at £15 while the “Addiction Frame” is £25.
The tiers go up and up from there. The Dice Wall is £90, and The Dice Gallery is £120 at the top end, before add-ons.
These items are all slated for May 2022.
