The Oxford-based Midnight Tower team live within walking distance of one of J.R.R. Tolkien’s former homes and near C.S. Lewis’ pond, and so it’s perhaps understandable and appropriate they’re back on Kickstarter for more fantasy.
In this case, the Kickstarter project is in part due to fan demand. The set of D&D 5e adventures Secrets of the Drow already has a digital edition. This Kickstarter is to fund a print run, and you can back it or see the pitch on the project page.
The adventures are set in a world called Eastern Farraway, a setting with 20-years of work from the Midnight Tower team, one influenced by Scandinavian nature and Norse folklore.
The book will have three adventures and a compendium.
- Troubles in Winterhold
- Find the Lost Expedition
- The Spider Queen’s Ritual
- The Drÿnaeri’s Dark Library with all unlocked stretch goals
In addition, there will be a VTT pack of tokens, gridless maps and digital handouts included for free for backers.
Gamers with the original digital edition might be interested to know that this one adds 35-pages more, including additional art.
For people struggling on low incomes or facing financial hardship, there is a £5 tier. The high-resolution digital copies, otherwise, unlock at the £10 pledge. That’s enough to get your name in the book.
The softcover, which comes with the PDFs and VTT back, is the reward at £20. However, what you’re buying is a print-at-cost coupon so you have got those costs still to pay.
Alternatively, for the same money, a hardcover becomes available but, once again, you’re buying the print-at-cost coupon with your support and have those costs still to come.
Higher pledges are available and all the deliveries are currently estimated for December of this year.
