Edge Studios is the RPG studio owned by Asmodee and which picked up Fantasy Flight’s tabletop RPGs during the dramatic reshuffle.
In other words, they’re the people who will (probably) be doing the Star Wars RPGs and are doing games like Legend of the Five Rings. They are also publishing Genesys, and that includes the Keyforge RPG.
This week Edge’s Community Content program published a set of bundles for GenCon, they’re discounted now and may be removed after the event finished, and they also published the free to download Golems! Gasp! bundle with two products inside.
GOLEMS, the Genesys Organizations, Legions, and Enterprises Management System, enables game masters to simulate the goings on of factions behind the scenes of their campaigns. If you have ever had trouble figuring out what kind of intrigue those background megacorporations are getting up to while your PCs run around pulling gigs for them, how your royal houses scheme and plot against each other, or the ebb and flow of the gangs roving your post-apocalyptic streets, then GOLEMS may be exactly what you need.
In Golems! Gasp! bundle there’s
- G.O.L.E.M.S.: Genesys Organizations, Legions, and Enterprises Management System
- Eyeland Adventures – Visions in Æmber; A GOLEMS Adventure Seed Packet for the Keyforge Setting
These usually are Pay What You Want titles with a suggested price of around $3.
The Golems bundle isn’t the only Genesys deal Edge partner publishers made available. There’s also Genesys Supplements, also with just two products, and 21% off, although that’s only a saving of $1.24.
It’s good news on the back of bad news. In August, Edge announced that Embers of the Imperium would be delayed, a Twilight Imperium RPG that uses the Genesys system.
In October, Ashes of Power will be released for Free RPG Day, and that’ll be a 40-page preview of the game with simplified rules for Genesys.
