Timed to coincide with the official release of The Wild Beyond the Witchlight: A Feywild Adventure the YouTube channel Splinterverse has released the Feywild Companion.
The 150+page book adds a new Feywild domain called Dualis, a magic based on reflections, duplicates and where those crossing between words are secretly duplicated.
Jimmy Flowers, the lead designer on the project, revealed;
We wanted players to have an additional domain to complement Wizards of the Coast’s Prismeer. The Feywild is a reflection of the Material Plane, and with Dualis we played with that concept. The presence of duplicates of players opens up a wide array of story possibilities. Will your players come face to face with themselves?”
The companion gives DMs new options for getting players into the magic realm, with options on developing portals into the Feywild, or how iron might influence that.
Irrespective of the realm, the adventures continue, and the book offers 30 new monsters such as the tortured Glasswail that hides in stained glass windows only to animate to display the mental tortures of trips to the Feywild gone wrong.
The download has 2 lineages and a race, with 13 new subclasses and 2 whole adventures.
Three virtual tabletop maps complete with nearly 80 tokens, along with write-ups on 17 NPCs, including an archfey villain are designed to help DMs get running in the Feywild quickly.
The mirror/portal aspect is seen again with the Mirror Domain for Clerics and the third eye abilities of Druids from the Circle of Visions.
