At D&D Celebration on the weekend, Wizards of the Coast lit up the tabletop community by announcing the 50th-anniversary D&D core rules for 2024. Are these 6th edition D&D? D&D 5.5? Something else?
However, also announced was Mordenkainen Presents Monsters of the Multiverse 2022. This new hardback would change how enemies, such as monsters, used spells. We were told spellcasting would be slimmed down to make it easier for Dungeon Masters to run these creatures.
The presentation was online, and featured in it was the New War Priest. The new-look stat block for the cleric was shown. Now, thanks to the skill pool of the internet, a cleaned-up screengrab of that stat block has been shared to Imgur.
Geek Native has used the AI Image Enlarger to further enhance the picture, making the block a bit larger with only a slight loss of clarity.
We see that enemies appear to be dropping spell slots in favour of a count of at-will or once a day spells. The style may not be dissimilar to D&D 4e.
You cannot yet pre-order Mordenkainen Presents Monsters of the Multiverse.
The $170 book that appeared on Amazon ahead of the presentation was revealed to be the Rules Expansion Gift Set, a slipcase collection of D&D rules which will not be out in time for Christmas due to the struggles of global logistics in the pandemic but will be out late January.
