Co-funded by Leo Zullo, Safe in Our World is a charity to keep the focus on mental health issues in the stressful world of video game making.
World Mental Health Day is the 10th of October, this Sunday, and is celebrating its 2nd anniversary.
Zullo, the charity’s chairperson, told the industry;
We are enormously proud of the work our fantastic team and a long list of supporters, from Ambassadors to Trustees, have achieved in the last year. We’ve gone from a Trustee-led organisation to a charity with multiple employees and initiatives that make a huge difference in the lives of so many. This was always the plan, and we would like to thank the community, industry, and all those involved directly for their hard work, commitment and drive to deliver exceptional programs and real-world impact on behalf of Safe In Our World.”
Safe in Our World has expanded the training goal of 50 community managers delivering mental health aid from 50 to nearly 200, thanks to Jingle Jam.
The good cause now has more than 80 game-makers and publishers on as Level Up Partners. If you are a community manager in the space, then there’s a Safer Together Discord for you to consider, a forum to bring people closer together.
